This was a stop about halfway up the mountain.
You can see that just a few of the trees had started changing.
This is one of the best pictures I got
that shows the bright reds, yellows, and oranges.
Oh, and the boy in the foreground is pretty cute, too.
The drive itself was spectacular. I wish I could've captured
the gorgeous panorama all around me, but this was the best I could do.
I had visions of taking some awesome pics of the kids.
I got them dressed up all cute and got them in place.
They were not very cooperative. Not intentionally being bratty,
just looking off at the wrong times or making goofy faces.
Believe it or not, this was the best one I got of the two of them
before the batteries on my camera died.

Cute pictures! I had always pictured the Smokey Mountains as being a little more intense -- like Matterhorn mountain at Disneyland or something, with ominous fog all around them. Show what I know!
Stunning shots of the blue ridge mountains - I would love to see them in the fall - They're so spectacular - One of my favorite memories is going to the Tweetsie Town Railroad with you and Brandon and Whitney, when Whitney was just a new baby and we rode in the death-defying chair lift across the mountainside! THAT wasn't my favorite part.
