Number one: The young women from church did the sweetest thing last night. They came over while Andrew was doing Bishopric visits and chalked our driveway. That was so sweet of them. And it was great timing. It had been a busy, stressful week for Andrew church-wise. He even got a little misty-eyed when he pulled into the driveway last night and saw their messages of gratitude and encouragement.
Whitney even got to help out a little bit.
Both times when we've walked outside this morning
she's pointed to that orange heart and said,
"I helped do that one!"
The happy recipient.
Number two: Brandon is known for being the generous one in the family. He loves to share. It is so wonderful. Well, today in the middle of breakfast, he sprinted away from the table for about 17 seconds. I was in the kitchen making his lunch, but it sounded like he had gone into our bedroom.
Me: "What were you doing?"
B: "Leaving a little surprise for Daddy."
I thought that sounded cute and didn't bother to ask any further questions. When I went into our bathroom a little while later, I found this:
Yep--this was the "little surprise". A half-eaten Baby Ruth, one quarter of a Kit Kat, and a single orange M&M all shoved into a sandwich baggy. The funny part is that Brandon really thought he was being kind by sharing these things with his Dad. Good try, buddy. :)

Hehe, I'm totally laughing outloud about Brandon's little present - kids are so funny. I bet it meant more to his dad than any expensive, pre-planned present, though:)
Orange M&Ms are very special.
Much better than plain old brown ones. Way to go, Brandon
I was just thinking the other day that I haven't had a good belly laugh for a long time. So, thank you Brandon Sweat for making a treat for your dad, providing me with the best laugh-out-loud moment I can remember in a long time. And thanks Andrea for sharing it with us, and thanks Andrew for being the Bishop, and thanks Whitney for helping make the orange heart. And especially, thank you young women and your awesome leaders for little things that are huge and for making our world a little bit better - To summarize: D& C 64:33, "Wherefore be not weary in well doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great." (I think I got that right, I was doing it by memory using the song-method because we sung it to "Bad Day."
I love B's present! He's great!
I think this is the sweetest thing I have seen for awhile.
You know he wanted to eat all of those candies by himself but instead he saved some for his dad.
So adorable!
