Two reasons to smile

Reason #1:  Whitney got a good report from her crush, Dr. Buckley, this week.  Yippee!

Her eyes are lookin' good.
So good, in fact, that we don't have to go back for a whole year!
That, my friends, is great news.
Except Whitney considers it a mixed blessing.
That's a long time to go without seeing your boyfriend.

Reason #2:  Brandon participated in his first pinewood derby this week.  Yee haw.

Here he is with the Thunderbird.
Or maybe it was the Firebird.
I forget.

I asked him to show me his game face.
He gave me a funny look and walked off.

He won about half of his races.
Go Thunderbird!
(go firebird?)

And his car was named "Most Hands Off Pinewood Derby."
I wasn't sure how to take that.
But it turns out that's the award given to the car that
looks like the scout did most of the work himself.
Huh.  I won't tell them that was MY paint job.
Totally kidding.
He DID do the design, sanding, and painting all on his own.
And apparently he gets to go on to the district derby now.
Sweet.

Fantastic!

Do all the men in your state look like each other? LOL! I had to do a double take...

Congrats on both counts. Glad that Brandon is enjoying scouts - it has been great for our family but certainly a big time commitment.

Congrats to both Whit and Brandon.

And Dr. Buckley and the Pinewood Derby Guy are like bizzaro versions of each other. I did a double take too!

That is the strangest name for an award. Oh Kier! And congrats to Whit! And tell Andrew to keep an eye on her...it looks like she is into older guys.

Megan and Ang--That is so funny. I hadn't even realized how much Dr. Buckley and Bro. Skipper look alike!

I'm fine with Whit being into older guys as long as they are world-renowned surgeons at Duke University. Either that or creepy guys who live in the mothers' basements.

Way to go Whitney.
Good race, Brandon.
Maybe Andrea should just settle for "little red car."
Before reading the above comments your two fans in Sandy both said "My heck, the Pinewood guy looks just like Whitney's doctor."
Your followers should be polled; bet they all think he does.

Fun on the pinewood derby! Weird award...but okay, it's cool :) Yay for Whitney's eyes, too - great news!
