A few thoughts on LOST

After having a day to digest the LOST finale, here are some thoughts.

*I liked the ending.  It was satisfying and spiritual.  My head is still spinning a bit over Christian saying, “There is no NOW here.”  Hard to wrap my mind around the whole “one eternal round” thing.

*I didn’t realize what a love story LOST was… you know, mixed in with all the head bashing, mythology, and time travel.

*I can’t stand television labor and birth.  Are you kidding me?  Claire went from her first contraction to holding Aaron in like 8 minutes.  Give. Me. A. break.

*Felt bad for Locke being all alone at the church.  Why didn’t he wait and move on with Helen?

*I was disappointed that Walt didn’t make another appearance.  His dog got more screen time than he did.

*SO happy Sawyer and Juliet ended up together.  I think most of us had correctly predicted that Juliet was Jack’s ex-wife.  Wish we could have savored their happiness a little longer.  Was Juliet even in the church?

*Will there ever be another TV show as good as this one?

On a side note, I redeemed my Mom's Day gift for a massage this weekend.   My favorite little spa has a new massage therapist:

Sayid!

Or his brother?  Cousin?  Seriously, though, his name is Hugo.  The LOST references were all around me.  Very fitting for the day before the finale.  It was kind of cool and a little unnerving to have him working the knots out of my shoulders.  I kept wondering if he was going to break out some of his tools from his time in the Republican Guard.  Yikes.

I hope you are coming to book club tonight because I so want to discuss LOST now that i have finally watched it. I was very pleased with the finale as well. If only most of this season didn't disappoint so much! I wanted Walt and his dad to be there too. And what about Faraday and those peeps?

Sayid gave you a massage! Lucky, lucky girl. :-)

I really liked the last episode. At first I thought Jack's dad was saying that the whole THING had been the spirit world, and I was all, "Nooooooooooo!" But then when I figured out that it was just Sideways world that was functioning as limbo-land, everything came together very satisfyingly. (All except for the Sayid/Shannon thing. Seriously?!?!?!?!?! Nadia, anyone?) And yes, Juliet was in the church.

Poor Walt just grew too much . . . A career undone by puberty!

(I also want to know what you told the masseuse when you asked to take his picture. Did you say, "You look just like Sayid and I want to put your picture on my blog and show my friends?" :-)

BUT WHAT DID THE NUMBERS MEAN?!? haha. I thought it went out in true LOST fashion. But I found myself disappointed. I was wishing for everything to be answered, and have it finished nice and neatly where I didn't have to do more thinking. But then it wouldn't be called LOST would it? :)

Yes, Ang. That's exactly what I told him. He thought I was crazy. I even asked him to give me a sinister look. He was a good sport.

It's a good thing her masseuse didn't look like Jack, or I would never buy her another gift certificate to the day spa.

I have never seen an episode of Lost...by the time I figured out there was such a show, it was like 250 episodes into it, and that's a little too much hulu and netflix even for me!

Just 3 seconds ago I put the first season on hold at our library. I'm #53 and they have 15 copies. Now that all the good reality shows are done I'm hoping to watch Lost. 3am nursings here I come!

The TV critic, who watched every episode of LOST for all six seasons summed up the conclusion as "Sloppy, lazy writing...."
But what do TV critics know?

Does anyone out there realize that one of the best and longest-funning TV shows in history just had its final expisode after THIRTY YEARS....thus tying "Bonanza" as longest running.

No, I'm not going to tell you what it was, but I watched a lot of those episodes over the last 30 years....and never saw a single episode of LOST.

But what do I know?

I've been lost in Sandy for almost four years.

I really enjoyed the finale, except for the last 10 minutes. Altho, now that you've said that about it being only the sideways world, I'm going, "ohhh, that's why they didn't mention Jack & Juliet's son!"

And apparently Walt made it off the island in time to not really be "connected" to it, and Michael was trapped on the island as a spirit. According to a friend who paid attention to all the ins & outs of the show!!
