B-train update

We've reached the end of another basketball season. This year had ups and downs--lots of downs, actually, but a few good ups. Andrew put together this great little highlight video. Brandon's usually in the black jersey #4, but they had to reverse them to red during his last game. Props to Andrew for being the official family videographer. If it were up to me, we'd only have still shots, but there's something about live action.

It is so fun to watch your child ENJOYING a sport. It was a completely different experience then trying to shove Whitney out on the soccer field against her will. Brandon loves playing b-ball and even though his team had a lot of growing to do, he worked hard and had fun.

B is super competitive, but
doesn't take himself too seriously.
Here he was doing a little pre-game jig.
Or maybe he was playing air Guitar Hero.

He's not the only teammate playing around
during warm-ups, as you can see.
Here he was wiggling his very first loose tooth.

He plays some intense defense

Our friend, Carissa, is in charge of the
cheerleaders and let Whit borrow some
pom-poms so she could cheer for her
brother. Go Fireballs!

Here he is trying to take it to the hole.

I'm open! I'm open!

The excitement continued that evening.
Here's Brandon when he had 22 teeth.
Then he asked his Dad to yank the
loose one for him because he couldn't
get it. (Brave kid!)
After a few tries, here is our new
toothless wonder. He's still getting
used to having that little gap. I catch
him sticking his tongue in there a lot.

After it came out, we could see why B-train was having
such a hard time with it. Can you see how much root is
left on that thing???? His permanent tooth is pretty far
behind where the primary tooth was, so only the back
of the root was dissolving. Ouch, buddy, that must've
hurt! But he kept on smiling.

Looks like Brandon had a lot of fun playing b-ball! And congrats on the missing tooth...they'll start falling out like hailstones now:) You can call him "Brack-o-Lantern", haha!

Dang Brandon looks good out on the court. Looks like Andrew might have a promising career in the TV editing room if he ever has to fire himself... j/k :)

And holy cows that tooth was LONG!!!!! That kid is tough as nails. What's he going to do with it? If he is already having doubts about Santa (or maybe already has a grasp for Santa I guess), I'm sure he has some doubts about a fairy coming around trading kids teeth for money.....hehe.

When are you gonna come visit??

Great job on putting that video together. The kids look soo small out there. Was Brandon the leading scorer of his team? He sure did seem to score a lot! Great job Brandon!

That's so neat that Brandon likes sports. Can you imagine if neither of your kids wanted to play? He looks like such a natural out there. I hope Jack will enjoy sports too, those rec leagues can be a lot of fun.

Great post! I think the video highlights may be the coolest thing I have ever seen on the internet! Man, that...was...awesome!

I actually felt like a horrible father after yanking Brandon's tooth only to discover that there was still an 8-inch root left. It was probably connected to his jaw bone somehow.

Love, Drew

Ouch! The thought of loose teeth always gives me the chills.

Brandon looks like he's got a basketball future. That's really cool. I sure hope my kids find a sport they really enjoy. Looking forward to some spring weather so we can get out and throw a ball around.

Loved the B-Train video. We went to the BYU/Utah basketball game Wednesday night and one of the songs the pep band played was "Wooo whooo" and I thought of Brandon all the way through it!
