Another back update

Everything went smoothly with Andrew's shot yesterday and so far it seems to be doing the trick. He was so giddy when he woke up this morning that he came down the stairs and starting dancing around the house. Haven't seen that in a while. Or maybe ever. I'm so happy for him.

And me.

And the kids.

Here's the old man on his way in to get his epidural.
(He hates it when I call his shot by that name.
But, hey, that's what the doc said.)

Here he is afterward.
Wait! You made him worse??
Oh, he was just a little drugged up.

Check out his posture during Brandon's
basketball game today. Nice. Very nice.
Looking like a 30-something man,
wouldn't you say?
And Caroline is apparently a b-ball fan, too.

This morning and afternoon were wonderful and he felt like a new man. This evening he said a little bit of the pain down his hip was returning, so that's worrisome. The nurse said it can take up to two weeks to see the full effects of the shot. We'll keep hoping for more pain relief. The physical therapy starts on Wed.

In other news, we finally got some decent weather around here. NC winters always have some nice days sprinkled among the cold ones, but since I've been back from Utah, it has been FREEZING. With no break. Yesterday we had 60 degree weather and jumped all over it. We went down to the park and pretended it was spring.

Whit played in the sandbox.

Caroline had fun in the swing.

And Brandon climbed all over the place.
Yippee!

Andrew and I went to a classical guitar concert last night put on by Music for a Great Space. The performer was Roland Dyens. He was amazing. We LOVED it.
It's nice to feel like we're getting a little culture once in a while.

Hope the shot does the trick! Oh I miss that playground & the short winter with temps jumping around. Good news, it rained here today but sad, I think snow is in the forcast for tomorrow! Play lots outside for us!

I'm so glad to hear that the shot was a success, at least for the time being! I'm sure its such a relief for all of you to feel *normal* again! Like having a baby - you're still not 100%, but you feel so much better than when you were pregnant that 65% feels practically miraculous:)

By the way, that Caroline is just too stinkin' cute!!

The "before and after" pics of Andrew are amazing. We hope things continue to improve for him. Great pictures of Brandon,, Whitney and Caroline. If it's any consolation, it is snowing in Utah today, with more forecast for tomorrow. Anyone want to move to Arizona?

I hope the shots really do do the trick! That has got to be awful! And wasn't Saturdays weather fabulous! I just loved it.

Glad the epidural is working! And this is the coldest winter I remember having in NC. We did the park scene Friday in jeans and t-shirts. That's more like it!

You are so wonderful with all of your updates - and to take Andrew to a classical guitar concert too. Loved every picture and hope Andrew's back continues to feel good. I've never seen ANYONE sit as straight as Andrew is in the photo at Brandon's basketball game! Grandma Ranquist used to say that Dennis stood up so straight when he was a little boy that they thought he was going to fall over backwards!

Is my rear end really that big? Geez! That first picture is from a bad angle. (I hope.)

I sympathize with you on the sick husband thing! We're in the same boat on that - just different types of ailments over here. It's the pitts. Sure hope Andrew gets some help on the back pain.

Love that picture of you two!
