Attention all bargain hunters

Ok, so I have a proposal. Let me know if I'm crazy or if anyone else is interested. I was thinking of starting a Bargain Hunting blog. I envision several team members who would contribute and share the bargains that they find. It would serve two purposes:

#1 Other readers could capitalize on good deals they may not have heard of otherwise.

#2 We could brag about how cheap we got stuff. That's always a fun game.

Seriously, if you are interested in participating in something like this, let me know. I don't want to just start it up myself if no one else wants to pitch in. Call me lazy if you will. :)

Anyway, here's my deal for the week. Amazon is having a magazine sale. I think it only goes through the end of this month. I don't always take the time to read mags, but one that I've always thought looked good was "Family Fun." They have a one year(10 issue) subscription on sale for FIVE bucks. I couldn't turn that down! And you don't have to be fooled by Amazon's good marketing. They'll try to convince you to add twenty more dollars to your order to get free shipping, but mags already have free shipping. (On the other hand, if you wanted to get free shipping on books or toys from them, you only have to spend $20 more instead of $25.) I think I'm making this more complicated than it needed to be.

They have a few other options for $5 including Fantasy Sports which I also ordered. I'm hoping to continue my winning streak against all those boys in Andrew's league. hee hee

That sounds like a great idea! Too bad I don't live near any stores that anyone else has heard of, heehee, but internet deals are great, too! I just got what I THOUGH was a good deal on "Family Fun" magazine, but you got a better deal than me! It is a great mag, by the way!

I heard that www.grocerysmarts.com started out there. If that's true you guys should totally do it. Example I spent $230 on groceries & saved $151 plus $10 off my next grocery purchase. Besides the newspapers, its free & awesome! Great way to build food supply. Great idea for a blog of it.

Some gals in my ward started a blog just like this, but it's mostly been local. A broader one would be great, too! I'd definitely play along! ;)

I think this is a great idea! I am not very good at looking for deals so this would be a big help to me!

You probably can't count on me to contribute . . . but you can count on me to read!

If you want to expand your idea to include frugal-living tips, I can play along.

By the way... Thanks for the tip on Family Fun Magazine, I just ordered mine and I was afraid I was too late, but the sale is still going on :)

Here are the sites that I go to when in the mood for bargains. The first one can be a bit overwhelming because it's so broad, but if you know what you're looking for specifically it doesn't hurt to check here first to see if there isn't a good deal already going on for it. The last two are a one-at-a-time type of bargain. If you miss it you're out of luck.
