The Beach

Ha, Summer.

You thought you'd slipped away from us for another year.

But we found you.

Hiding out at the beach of all places.

We can't blame you.

We love it there, too.

The sun.

The sand.

The surf.

 The splashing.

The shells.

The smiles.

The spells.

The spinning.

What's not to love???

Oh, and don't forget about the things that don't begin with S.
(Or maybe they could if my vocabulary was larger and more creative.)

One of my favorite one dollar investments:  bobbers.

We throw them out in the waves and race to gather them.
Great fun and quite a workout, too.

Flying kites in the breeze.
We had a fabulous long weekend down at North Myrtle.  The temps were in the low 90's both days we spent at the beach and then it rained our whole drive home.  We couldn't have planned it better.  Kept wondering if this was our last trip to the Carolina coast.  Made us sentimental.  If so, this was the way we'd want to go out.

We land-locked lubbers envy your proximity to the coast, with
Sweeties on the seacoast
Stunning umbrellas
Sea bobbers
Skies with kites
Simply sensational stuff!

Still not getting a word to verify until after comments. GRRRR.

I just love that picture of Caroline sitting in the sand hole. Too cute.

We were planning on visiting too (eventually, in like 2 years). Oh well. Beautiful and fun pictures. I love the beach! Caroline's hole looks quite comfy.

Ang and Amy--Maybe we can still plan a vacation out here in a couple of years. I don't think the Gulf Coast will be quite the same.

I was going to try to think up "S" words to describe your last few pictures but then thought, "I'll bet Grandpa Hiatt did that already." Love all the photos. That one of Caroline in her darling little suit pointing out at the sea with her dimpled arm is so stinking cute.

And congratulations on the great big new adventure coming at you...Wow.

You lucked out w/the weather! According to my mom, right after you left the rains came in abundance and there was flooding.

What a beautiful weekend at the beach. And I too am so happy that you got beautiful weather. These pictures are unforgettable. We will always treasure our memories at Carolina Beach and the wild and woolly Outer Banks. Thanks for sharing everything.
Love,
Grandma Sweat
