We signed all the paperwork and it is OFFICIAL. Our house is under contract after 28 days of being on the market. Yippee! How exciting. We signed the contracts this morning, but I'm still holding back a little bit on the celebrating. Ya see, they offered us $500 more than our asking price and then we are paying the closing costs. Which is fine...as long as the house appraises for the selling price. Several people have said, "Oh, don't worry. That shouldn't be a problem at all." But my agent, who is very straightforward, is a little concerned about it. So that makes me concerned, too. The appraisal should happen sometime in the next 10 days, so I'll keep holding my breath until then.
As far as the house hunting, I walked through 3 more homes today. I really liked one of them. So, now my list is down to the top 3. Andrew has only been through one of those. We'll go through all three of them again on Saturday and see what we think and hopefully put in an offer on one of them. This house is supposed to close on June 20th, so we'll try to do both closings then, if possible.
Fun stuff!

AAAAHHHH! I'm nervous and excited for you. See, not showing your house on Sundays does work. Maybe I should share that wisdom with my neighbors who have yet to sell their house after what seems like a year of it being on the market. The fact that they have their car up on blocks in their driveway probably doesn't help either. So are we going to be allowed to grace the mansion once you move? Will I be invited to this fancy brunch you will be serving? And will there be an entire room dedicated to Billy Blanks workouts?
I wouldn't be too nervous about the appraisal. If there are homes in your area that have gone anywhere close to that, then the appraiser will note it. Also, appraisal isn't an exact science, and just so long as it's not outrageous, they will want to please their clients. They wouldn't short an appraisal by 1,000--not worth it to anyone. So I wouldn't worry.
Congrats, congrats!
Yay! That is so exciting! So where are your top three located? Please say Adams Farm, please say Adams Farm.
But even if it is not, we will still come visit you. I am sure everything will work out so don't worry! Congrats again!

Congratulations! This is excellent news! Can't wait to hear about what you choose.
Do I dare to dream of a day when I do not have to duck my head to avoid hitting it on the livingroom ceiling fan?
