Feeling so yucky

I just re-read my 9/27 post on being happy to feel yucky. I could slap myself right now. I'm SO over feeling happy about morning sickness. Especially now that I know I'm probably in for another SIX WEEKS of this. I threw up for the first time tonight. Nasty. It was the most violent vomiting experience I've ever had. I thought my eyeballs were going to pop out of my head.

When I was in hygiene school, my classmates and I firmly believed that you get more sick when you're pregnant with girls than with boys. For me, it was true. I felt a lot worse throughout Whit's pregnancy than with B. Well, I had already convinced myself that this third little one was going to be a boy because I felt SOOO good. Now I'm having second thoughts. Must be a girl.

I don't know, I felt pretty yucky with Max... and the morning sickness lasted until the middle of the second trimester for me. So, it could still be a boy- Brandon told me at the last primary activity that you need to have a boy, and you wouldn't want to disappoint him, would you?

I almost called you tonight to talk "Bella and Edward", but you were probably puking your guts out, so good thing I didn't. Hope you feel better. Missed you this past week.

Yuck! I'm sorry you're not feeling well. As far as your boy/girl theory goes, I remember feeling pretty good when I was pregnant with Elise. I think I was sickest with Ethan. Who knows why?? I think you need to have a boy, though, so Wyatt has another boy cousin (and to keep the boy streak going on the Sweat side.) Although, if you had a girl, you would give Mom and Dad Sweat an even 6 girls/6 boys! So either way!

Wow interesting theory. I have never heard anything like that before. I am sorry you are feeling yucky and hope it goes away soon!

sorry you're not feeling well...at least it's for a really good cause! :)

I'm also rooting for a boy for the same biased reason as Ang. (-:

I wish you could feel just a little yucky so you knew you were still pregnant, but not so bad that you threw up.

Your theory was true for me - but then, I got less violently ill with each child, so it could just be by default that I was less sick with Josh, since he was third. BUT, for most of my friends, while its not always sickest with the girl...most are sicker with one gender or the other. I believe it - human hormones are such a funny thing, I think its entirely possible that the hormones produced from one gender or the other could make different women sicker.

Anyway, I'm sorry you feel lousy:( That's seriously the thing keeping me from working on #4 right now...I think I'd do fine with another baby, but being pregnant, sick and tired...not really wanting to do that right now!

I'm sorry that you're so sick, but I have to say that this post has made me laugh and laugh. I have - almost verbatim - the same posts on my blog. One delighting in my newfound morning sickness because it made me "feel more pregnant" and then one a couple weeks later lamenting the blasted morning sickness that was ruining my life! As soon as I saw your first post I laughed and wondered how long it would be before a post like this appeared. :) I too had the violent vomiting experiences - I actually busted blood vessels in my eyes and gave myself bloody noses they were so bad. I hate that someone else is going through the same thing! But as far as the gender theory is concerned, everyone told me I was having a girl for that exact reason and voila- little baby boy!

Oh man! I am gearing up to do this again, and I'm scared mainly for this reason. I was pretty sick with Clayton, even sicker with Jack, and they were both boys. Plus, many people I know get progressively sicker with each pregnancy instead of better. So much for positive thinking! I'm just trying to gear up. I've decided what I'm going to do and maybe this will help you too - we're going to buy a very large stack of paper plates, cups, etc from Costco and only eat on paper (bad for the environment, yes, but good for our sanity), and we'll be eating from the frozen food section of Costco from week 6-20. :-) Hang tough! And when you are throwing up remind yourself that you and the toilet are not alone - there are thousands of other women having "morning" sickness along with you (that always helps me when I am alone with the toilet).

Oh, you pooor baby! I HATE morning sickness, I HATE the smell of the inside of a toilet, I couldn't even think of anything meat-related when I had morning sickness or I'd throw up. Once I looked at a picture of meat in a REader's Digest and had to go throw up. I loved Laurie's comment about there being thousands of women having morning sickness along with you - it's so true - I never thought about it like that. It's always nice to know you can count on one hand how many weeks you have left for not only the "general malaise" but also the eye-popping vomiting to end - and then it's pretty much smooth sailing for another 5 months - and then 3 weeks of not being able to turn over in bed and wishing you were DONE! I think it's a girl (although I want it to be a boy just because Brandon would be so excited).
Thanks for waiting until our vacation was over to get morning sickness - that was so accomodating of you!!
Love you - hope Andrew is able to take good care of you this weekend while you have conference. I'll never forget watching it on your computer in 2001 in Arizona :)
Love you all,
Mom sweat
