Just for fun

First off, loved everyone's thoughts on the trophy issue. Sounds like most of us are on the same page--gotta stop the participation trophies somewhere between the ages of 7 and 13. Since the coaches are the ones that usually decide to have the trophies and hand them out, it will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years in B's athletic career.

Ok, so I saw something on one of the morning news shows a few weeks ago about the 2006 YouTube Video Awards. Did anyone else see that? So, of course, I got online to check them out. They gave out awards in seven categories. Most of them are worth watching--I wouldn't recommend the Best Commentary. (I didn't make it through the whole thing. It was creeping me out.) And the Best Comedy is pretty funny, but has some potty humor in it, just to warn you. But, this Most Creative video was my favorite and I had to share.

It makes me wish I had eight treadmills and three friends who would choreograph a cheesy dance with me. I'd especially love to try the ice skating move. Hope you enjoy it like I did!

Hey Andrea,
I'm in, and I'm sure Shelley and Erika would help us out and offer some awesome moves... now all we need are the 8 treadmills!

One more thought... where did these guys get the time to perfect this crazy dance? Don't they have jobs?

Andi, I'm totally in. Next time you are in Utah we can raid a Gold's Gym.

Great question, Nicolle. I should've given a little more detail. They are actually a band called OKGo. They sing the song that they are dancing to. So, yes, they do have jobs. They're getting paid to dance on treadmills!

Hello. This is Shelley's sister. I have seen this video about a million times and every time I watch it, it makes me laugh. Although thinking about my sister and all her crazy friends in NC making up their own treadmill dance makes me laugh even harder. No joke, I just watched this (at work) and was visualizing a bunch of you dorky girls doing a dance like that and I laughed hysterically the entire way through the video. People kept looking at me like I was crazy but it was well worth it. Thanks for the laugh! :)

That video is hilarious! I'd seen it once before, but not all the way through. Now I'm going to go check out the other award winners. I wonder if those guys choreographed that dance themselves. I think it's pretty impressive and funny.

That's awesome! I would TOTALLY join your treadmill dancing group! Why is it that every time there is a great you-tube video involving funny choreography - its a group of late 20's/early 30's GUYS? I always think it reeks of BYU RM apartments...

thanks for sharing - gave me a giggle:)

Ok, here's what I see... SIXTEEN treadmills, not just eight, and lots and lots of jazz hands! HA! I love this video too. The best was when they recreated the video at the MTV music awards. I never watch the award show, but I saw a clip of it afterward, and it was even funnier watching them dance on 8 treadmills on stage like they were at a concert!

I want in on this sooo bad! Can I be in the dance? Maybe I can help coregraph. I think I spelled this wrong. Anyways! I showed this to my mom who loved it! She is a dance teacher...who knows it may inspire her next dance!

How did they do that???? It's amazing. I wonder how many times they had to do it to get it right. Thanks for sharing, Andrea.
