Out of the Mouths of Babes--July

7/1--Brandon and his friend came up with a new pastime:  Noodle Jousting.

Fun.  Exciting.  Fairly safe.

7/2--Andrew asked Whit about our visit to the water park today.  While on the lazy river, she was using her imagination so she told him, "We went on a panda hunt in a bamboo forest." When Andrew asked if she found any she replied as condescendingly as possible for a six-year-old, "Panda bears don't live in the United States, Dad."

I thought all adults knew that.

7/3--Whit and I were shopping at Target and decided to try on the hats.  She put one on and I told her she looked so cute.  When I tried the same one on she said, "Well, of course it looks good on you, Mom.  You look just like me!"

  Twins.

7/12--B's new travel plans:  I'd love to go to a place that sells gourmet cotton candy.  That would be heaven for me.

Take me with you!

7/13--In the van today, Brandon said, "Wouldn't it be cool if there was an animal called an Octohorn?  It would have eight horns and each horn could control a different element."  I thought that was so creative and told him he should write a story about it.  When we stopped the van, I needed to write something down in my planner.  Brandon asked, "Are you writing the Octohorn down for Out of the Mouths of Babes?"  No.  "Well, I think you should."  At your service, sweetheart.

He also requested that I take his pictures with this short tie.

7/15--I didn't realize B was the history expert of the family.  As we were driving through West Virginia today, he informed us, "If we lived in colonial times, this would still be Virginia."

7/29--We ate lunch at a Japanese restaurant.  When they brought out our miso soup I asked Caroline if she wanted to try it.  She said, "No.  It's too exciting."

Apparently doesn't want to be over-excited.

7/31--Caroline wanted something to eat this morning, but Grandma Sweat and I were having a hard time figuring out what it was.
Grandma:  Do you want cereal?
C:  No.
G:  A banana?
C:  No.
G:  Some crackers?
C:  No.
G:  (running out of options at this point)  Celery?
C:  No.
G:  Do you want a hundred dollars?
C:  No.  (pause to think)  Yea. Yea!  YEA!  Dollars.

 Smarty pants.

7/31--Caroline is enamored with the word "exciting," but doesn't know what it means.  She drank Sprite at a party tonight and after making her scrunchy face said, "It's exciting."

*laugh* I don't know, I've had some pretty exciting Sprite in my day. Especially now that Sonic uses it in their Sparkling Lemonades! : )

Cute post for July!

Hi cute kids! We miss you! I listened to the CD all the way to work and Gummy Bears is still my all time favorite. I also like "Sweet Caroline" and another country song that's about loving the place you live because it's yours, but I think it's also about rewinding an ipod or something or other. We sure loved having you visit the Utah clan and spending time with each and every sniggle one of you.
With love,
Grandma and Grandpa Sweat
